Preston Focuses on Safety with Company-Wide Conference

November 11, 2020

This week, more than 100 Preston employees gathered at the Kansas City headquarters for a multi-day conference focused on safety. This was the first of what Preston plans to be an annual summit.

Along with COVID-19 protocols, the event offered important certifications, educational sessions, and discussions specific to industrial refrigeration. Participants walked away with certifications in First Aid and CPR, OSHA-10, and contract management services.  Education sessions covered safety leadership, PPE, defensive driving, and equipment capabilities. During brainstorming sessions, small groups met with Preston leadership and outside consultants to ask questions and provide feedback.

“Hosting an event of this nature during COVID-19 created challenges but the pandemic also reinforced why safety is so important,” said Anita Mai, Preston’s Manage of HR. “We believe safety is a verb and it requires a proactive approach through training, planning and leadership.”
